Want to enable network discovery in windows server 2022, and every time you switch it on and save it, it stays disabled?
For network discovery, it’s a common issue.
Open services.msc and make sure the following services are all running:
- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host
After that turn network discovery on again and it should stay enabled.
The bold ones are disabled by default on a new installation and need to be enabled in oder to switch network discovery to on.
Strange that you just do not get an error or warning, but it silently fails to do what you ask.
